Dr. José Maria Pinheiro Torres’ passion is to work closely with every patient and help them recover their natural smile, reconnect with their identity and regain self-cofidence and well-being. To transform the concept of ‘artificially perfect’ into an all new perspective through a “positive assumption” of our own asymmetries and imperfections, which characterize beauty, individuality and personality. These are his strongest motivations.
José Maria Pinheiro Torres finished his degree in Dental Medicine at ISCS-N Porto in 1995, having spent the following five years practicing General Dentistry. In 2000, he completed his Master’s in Implant Dentistry at the Gothenburg University, Sweden.
Driven by the goal of establishing a benchmark dentistry facility in Porto, his hometown, he founded Clínica Pinheiro Torres in 2005. A personal project, thought out from scratch to ‘rival’ with the best international centers of oral rehabilitation.
Since then, José Maria has invested in the study and development of the ‘Perfect Asymmetry’ philosophy and has been sharing his expertise in the field with other professionals in the area through conferences and certified training courses.
A member of the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO) since 2008, he has created an innovative rehabilitation technique for teeth in aesthetic areas, in a single procedure and with imperceptible, natural results, completely stable in time. This protocol has been published in a leading scientific magazine, ‘Clinical Oral Implants Research’, in 2011, and has now been in practice for over a decade.
His dedication to the development of Implant Dentistry has earned him the EAO Certificate in Implant-based Therapy in 2016, an important award from the European Association for Osseointegration. In 2017 he received the title of specialist in Periodontology by the OMD.
